Police arrested two men David Jose Gomez Cegarra, 24 and Jesus Segundo Hernandez-Gil, 19 for allegedly stealing from ATMs in three states using jackpotting. In one occasion at a Radius Federal Credit Union in Kenmore, New York, the men allegedly opened an ATM, installed malware, and then returned several times to withdraw more than $110,000 illegally, according to a report by Finger Lakes Daily News.
The men are also suspected to be members of the Tren de Aragua Gang, and are Venezuelan nationals. The men allegedly targeted ATMs in Framingham, Massachusetts, Dryden, New York and Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Police apprehended the men in Mahomet, Illinois, and they are currently being held in custody.
