Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil the highly anticipated iPhone SE 4 as early as mid-February, potentially aligning with a Valentine’s Day announcement.
This timeline, reported by Bloomberg, supports earlier rumors that suggested a February or March launch for the budget-friendly device.
If the announcement takes place next week, Apple will likely open pre-orders soon after, with shipments expected to begin before the end of February.
iPhone SE 4 is arriving within a week
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to introduce significant upgrades compared to its predecessor while maintaining an affordable price point.
Visually, the device is rumored to resemble the iPhone 14, featuring a modernized design with flat edges, a larger display, and thinner bezels.
However, it will likely include only a single rear camera instead of the dual-camera setup found in the iPhone 14.
This design shift is a significant change from the older iPhone SE models, which retained the classic home button and thick bezels from the iPhone 8 era.
Internally, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be a powerhouse in the budget segment. It is rumored to feature Apple’s latest A18 processor, ensuring top-tier performance and efficiency.
This aligns with Apple’s ongoing push to extend its advanced chip technology across its product lineup.
Additionally, the device is expected to support Face ID, marking the first time an SE model has moved away from Touch ID.
Another major change is the switch to USB-C, which aligns with Apple’s transition away from Lightning ports on its devices.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the iPhone SE 4 is its role as a testbed for Apple’s in-house modem.
This marks a strategic shift away from Qualcomm’s modems, suggesting that Apple is making progress in developing its proprietary wireless technology. The success of this modem in the SE 4 could influence future iPhone models.
Beyond the iPhone SE 4, Apple is expected to launch other products in early 2025, including the PowerBeats Pro 2 with a heart rate sensor.
Later in the year, the company will likely introduce the M4 MacBook Air and an updated iPad Air.
