Welcome to the APRIL edition of my DivGro 2.0 newsletter!
April has been a tumultuous month, kicked off by the Trump Administration’s “liberation day” tariff announcements. The ensuing market reaction was furious, with stock indices falling by more than ten percent and wiping out over $6 trillion in market capitalization in just two days.
I’ll write more about the impact of April’s market chaos on my portfolio in next month’s newsletter. In this edition, I’ll focus on the actions I took in March to prepare for converting our IRAs to Roth IRAs later this year.
In March, I opened eight new positions and closed five existing positions, so DivGro now contains 92 positions. Of these, 74 are dividend growth [DG] stocks, seven are closed-end funds, and one is a dividend-paying stock. By convention, I label stocks with dividend increase streaks of five or more years DG stocks.
