The end of support for office versions is closer
In exactly six months, support for Microsoft Office 2016 and Office 2019 expires. On October 14, 2025, the supply of security updates and technical support for these versions ends. While Office 2019 has no longer received mainstream support since October 2023, Office 2016 has been in the extended support phase since October 2020.

Companies should therefore switch to newer versions promptly to ensure security, conformity and optimal performance.
As an alternative, Microsoft recommends switching to Microsoft 365 or Office 365, which offer access to Microsoft 365 apps. “Microsoft 365 apps always provide current versions of well-known applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint for desktop, mobile devices and web with continuous support in accordance with the Modern Lifecycle Policy,” explains Microsoft. In October 2024, Office 2024 was published as an independent version for small companies and private users without Microsoft 365 subscription. Office LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) 2024 is available for special applications, such as devices without an internet connection that require long -term support.
This version was released for commercial and official customers in September 2024 and will be supported by October 9, 2029 – four years after the end of the previous versions.
