John Sarcone III, Veteran of First Trump Term, Is Tapped for Upstate U.S. Attorney Post


A downstate lawyer in private practice who served in President Donald Trump’s first administration, and is a longtime advocate for New York’s Republican and Conservative parties, was tapped on Tuesday to head the office of the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced in a statement that John A. Sarcone III is scheduled to begin in the role on March 17, based in the district’s Albany office. The district spans a swath of 32 upstate counties, with its other offices in Syracuse, Binghamton and Plattsburgh.
