Following the release of the first developer beta of iOS 18.4 last week, Apple has today made the first public beta release of the same software available.

Those who are registered on Apple’s public beta program can download the update now.

This new update comes alongside the first public beta releases of iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, watchOS 11.4, and tvOS 15.4 all of which are now available for download on their respective platforms. However, it’s important to remember that these are indeed beta updates and that problems should be expected — especially considering their ā€˜beta 1’ status.

As for what’s new, the iOS 18.4 update brings with it a new Apple News+ section that focuses on food and recipes, while a new Apple Vision Pro app is also available to help owners of Apple’s spatial computer better manage the headset. Other additions include the rollout of Apple Intelligence to new territories as well as Priority Notifications. A new style has also been added to Image Playground.

Over on the Mac and iPad, the iPhone’s new email categorization feature has come to the Mail app, putting messages into different categories based on their content. The feature is part of Apple Intelligence, and it’s unclear why it didn’t launch on the Mac and iPad alongside the iPhone last year.

Apple is now expected to launch a few more betas over the coming weeks as it gets iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, watchOS 11.4, and tvOS 15.4 ready for release.
