Munger Retained to Defend L.A. Utility in Litigation Over Pacific Palisades Fires


Munger, Tolles & Olson has signed a three-year, $10 million contract to defend the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the largest municipal utility in the U.S., in litigation resulting from the Pacific Palisades fire.

The city’s Board of Water and Power voted Feb. 11 to retain Munger, though the firm’s “term” began Jan. 12, according to the agreement, and is set to terminate Jan. 11, 2028.
