Google’s annual I/O developer conference will begin on May 20th this year. It will be live from the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Like in previous years, Google posted a puzzle for people to solve that will reveal the dates for I/O 2025, and it seems that the puzzle revealed that the event will start on May 20th.

Despite the Android 16 beta and rumours of the Pixel 9a launching earlier this year, it looks like Google I/O will be a week later than last year.
We expect to see the full launch of Android 16 at the event (according to the developer blog, Android 16 is launching in May); we’ll also hopefully learn more and get the first official looks at Android XR and Samsung’s Project Moohan. Additionally, we might get a sneak peek at the Pixel 10 series teaser alongside news about Gemini and Project Astra.
But most importantly we’ll get to hear Rick Osterloh and Sundar Pichai say the words “tokens” and “AI” at least 50 times each.
