About Pondicherry University

The Pondicherry University is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in October 1985. The University is located in Kalapet about 10 kms from Puducherry town in a serene, beautiful and sea-facing 800-acres campus.

Pondicherry University is a renowned Central University established with the aim to provide instructional and research facilities, and encourage interdisciplinary studies. It offers a stimulating environment for academic and research pursuits, and to nurture innovation.

About the School of Law

The School of Law was established in 2014. It strives to achieve excellence in legal education through active learning methods, clinical opportunities and exposure through dedicated internships and semester-abroad opportunities. 

In compliance with the Choice Based Credit System, the School offers an intensive 2-year Master’s Program (LL.M.) with four specializations namely Criminal Justice and Human Rights, International Law, Intellectual Property Laws and Corporate Law. Besides, two PG Diploma Programs on Criminology and Forensic Science and Intellectual Property Rights are also offered. 

In tune with the vision, the School aims to groom every student with the required skills, knowledge, and attitude required to succeed in the legal profession.

About the 1^st Law Fest – Rendezvous’25

The One Day National-level Law Fest – Rendezvous’25 aims to bring together law students from different institutions around the country to showcase their talents through different competitions. It provides a platform for critical thinking, networking, team building and to showcase their creativity, general awareness and understanding of the essentials of legal education at the undergraduate level.

Events

• Awareness creation Videos (Length: 2-3 mins; Theme: Fundamental Rights; Online submission deadline: 10 February 2025).
• Rangoli Competition on (Theme: New Criminal Laws; Duration: 30 minutes at the venue; Space: 3sq ft.; Participants shall bring their own materials for Rangoli).
• Quiz (Themes: The Constitution of India, International Law, Human Rights, Criminal Law, Corporate Law and IPR; Preliminary round will be a written quiz and the Finals will be on-stage).
• Debate (Topic to be chosen on the spot from among 10 topics provided; Refer to event guidelines for specific details).
• The Competitions are open to bonafide students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 year/5 year) from BCI-recognized Universities and Law Colleges.
• Only three persons can register as a team and a maximum of two teams from an institution can register for Rendezvous’25.

Registration

• The teams must upload a bonafide certificate (issued by the institution) at the time of online registration and produce the hardcopy of the same at the venue.
• Registration and payment to be done online only.
• Registration fees: Rs. 600 per team (non-refundable)
• Last date to register: 10.02.2025
