Beacon announces digital wallet for Canadian immigrants

Beacon, a financial solutions provider for immigrants, released Beacon Money for immigrants in Canada. With this digital wallet, powered by Digital Commerce Group and Visa, immigrants can open, deposit funds and use funds within the larger Beacon Super App, according to a press release.

Immigrants can utilize this tool prior to their arrival in Canada. In addition, Indian immigrants can utilize Beacon Money with Beacon Remit for remittances back home.

In order to sign up for Beacon Money, users must download the MyBeacon app, confirm their identity, scan documentation and fund the wallet. They can use the wallet anywhere that accepts Visa cards.

“At Beacon, we empower immigrants. We are thrilled to partner with Digital Commerce Group and Visa to create Beacon Money, a game-changing wallet that gives our users a head start before they arrive in Canada and is also the ideal wallet for their daily needs after they arrive,” Stuart Szabo, CEO and co-founder of Beacon, said in the release.
