2 men arrested for alleged ATM jackpotting in Miami


Police have arrested Roman Leskiv, 28, and Vitalii Moravel, 32, for allegedly jackpotting ATMs to steal large sums of money in the Miami-Dade, Florida area.

Multiple ATMs were targeted, including a convenience store device that lost $4,500, according to a report by NBC Miami.

At one ATM location, at a Valero gas station, there were 26 fraudulent transactions resulting in the culprits stealing $5,200. Upon an investigation, authorities discovered Moravel allegedly made illegal withdrawals at a Marathon gas station.

Authorities executed a search warrant for the two men and found a card re-encoder, blank cards, multiple VIN stickers, bug detector for Wi-Fi Bluetooth and other devices at Leskiv’s apartment.

Both men have been arrested and booked in jail.
