Select Rogers plans now include unlimited minutes to 27 countries

Rogers has changed some of its 5G+ mobile plans to now include unlimited international minutes across 27 countries.

Two out of the three current 5G+ plans (Popular and Ultimate) now include unlimited international minutes for calls across 27 countries, which is a change from the previous 1,000 minutes across Canada, Mexico and the U.S. The lowest plan, dubbed Essentials, continues to have only 2,000 international text messages.

These upgraded plans are currently priced at $80/mo for the Popular plan and $100/mo for the Ultimate plan.

The included countries are: Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Hong Kong (excluding Macau), India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and the U.K.

Notably, this is an example of Rogers playing catch-up. Telus added unlimited long-distance minutes to 27 countries back in July alongside the rollout of its new ‘Complete’ plans. Bell followed suit a couple weeks ago. Both providers offer the unlimited calling to 27 countries feature on their mid- and top-tier plans.

Telus’ plans are $85/175GB and $100/250GB, while Bell’s are $80/175GB and $100/250GB.

Freedom Mobile, on the other hand, is a more wallet-friendly option in terms of 5G+ plans, with three relatively similar plans to those that Rogers changed. While Freedom doesn’t have the same calling options, it does offer Canada/U.S./Mexico usage and several plans include Roam Beyond features with extra data and roaming options in over 100 destinations. Freedom’s plans are a lot cheaper, ranging from $39/60GB up to $69/200GB.
