After seeing sales slip following the release of the latest iPhone, Apple is reportedly planning to return to stronger growth with several new products including the iPhone 17e, as well as major updates to the iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad Air.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman wrote: “Apple Inc. is planning an ambitious pipeline of new products for release during the first half of 2026, including a new low-end iPhone, multiple iPads, and upgraded Macs.” These details are based on internal sources familiar with the company’s plans and have not been confirmed by Apple.
iPhone 17e
The iPhone 17e is reportedly set for release in early 2026. According to Gurman, the device will look similar to the 16e model, which debuted in February 2025 and with an A18 processor. The iPhone 17e is expected to feature an A19 chip.
While the Apple iPhone 17 line has not been officially announced, previous release patterns suggest a possible launch event in September 2025. Industry insiders believe that the iPhone 17 will come with a price tag of $799, with the iPhone 17 Pro coming in at $999, but official pricing information hasn’t been announced at the time of this writing.
iPad
Apple is rumored to be preparing an upgrade to its entry-level tablet, the iPad, which may feature a faster processor. While the exact chip has not been officially announced, the current generation of iPads feature the A16 processor and come with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $349. The next-gen iPad is reportedly scheduled for a release in March or April 2026.
iPad Pro
The iPad Pro is expected to receive an upgrade to the M5 processor in the near future. According to some sources, this could happen as early as October 2025; however, this timing is unconfirmed, and Apple has not publicly commented on the device’s development. Pricing for the iPad Pro starts at $999, although the final price tag will depend on the device’s exact specifications which have not been finalized.
iPad Air
With more speed than the standard iPad but not quite as much functionality as the Pro, future models will reportedly see an upgrade to the M4 chip, which is currently featured in the MacBook Pro. It’s unclear if the M4 processor will result in a price increase once the new iPad Air is released.
The new iPad Air is expected to hit store shelves alongside the updated iPads in March or April 2026, but as with other products, launch dates could change. For comparison, the current generation of the iPad Air features an M3 processor and starts at $599.
A lot in store for 2026
Between the rumored iPad refreshes and the iPhone 17e, the team at Apple will be hard at work in the second half of 2025 and early 2026. Although pricing, specifications, and release dates remained unconfirmed and subject to change, customers and industry analysts have much to watch as Apple’s product strategy continues to evolve.
Until Apple issues official announcements, all information should be considered speculative.
