When Apple announced the iOS 26 software update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 9, the company immediately released the first developer beta.

Then, two weeks later, the second beta was released to developers. Now, we’re waiting for the third beta and here’s when we expect that it will be released, too.

Apple is expected to release the first public beta version of the iOS 26 software this coming July, likely to coincide with the release of the third developer beta.

If Apple sticks to its previous beta release schedule, we expect that it will release the third iOS 26 developer beta two weeks after the second was made available. That means that, based on the previous release cadence, we expects that Apple will release iOS 26 beta 3 on or around Monday, July 7, 2025.

We don’t know what’s that new beta will include just yet, but it’s safe to assume that there will be a hefty array of bug fixes and other improvements as Apple gets the beta ready for the public.

Apple has already confirmed that it intends to release the final iOS 26 update to the public this fall. We expect that will happen in September, around the same time that Apple announces the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro devices.
