Kulik, a seasoned veteran of the reinsurance sector, brings over two decades of actuarial and reinsurance experience across both public and private markets. His expertise spans pricing, reserving, and stochastic modeling from senior actuarial roles at SCOR, Arch Re, and reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter.

In his new role at Ledger, Kulik leads, reviews, and communicates actuarial modeling of client casualty, specialty, and multiline portfolios for the firm’s reinsurance broker team, with a focus on capital markets securitisation of these portfolios.

Kulik began his industry career in 1999 by serving as Chief Pricing Actuary at SCOR US, where he led the U.S. pricing team, developed ROE-based underwriting frameworks, and worked closely with SCOR’s global management in Paris on strategic initiatives and major client relationships.

In 2004, he joined Arch Reinsurance, where he led a team of actuaries responsible for quarterly and annual loss reserving, financial reporting, and corporate planning for the firm’s North America treaty and Global Facultative divisions. He also served on the Arch Capital Group economic capital modeling team.

In 2013, Kulik moved to Guy Carpenter as Senior Vice President, Analytics. There, he applied pricing and stochastic modeling expertise to lead and support risk management solutions for major private and public sector clients.

As the lead North America public sector actuary, he focused on natural catastrophe-exposed property while also continuing to deliver casualty reinsurance solutions. He further applied capital modeling to help clients evaluate broader financial strategies.

Most recently, Kulik served at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where he led the reinsurance program for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). In this role, he managed placements in both the traditional reinsurance and ILS catastrophe bond markets.

His addition to Ledger comes at a time of continued momentum for the company.

We reported in late 2024 that Ledger Investing had surpassed $2 billion in casualty ILS placements with institutional investors, a major milestone reflecting growing institutional appetite for diversified insurance risk.
