A Quick Recap
In the first edition of BYD OTA Watch, I took a closer look at the confusion surrounding version 1.2.0 – which in fact was a mix of multiple updates labeled under the same version number. Just days later, a new update was rolled out: version 1.2.1. While the versioning is still murky, this release appears to include a broader set of fixes and changes under the same OTA identifier.
Changelog from In-Car Update Screen (v1.2.1)
Based on community observations, forum reports and direct inspection of the update screen in my Sealion 7, here’s a summary of what changed in v1.2.1 / 51.1.4.2503110:
New Features
- Battery Charging Preheat Function: Pre-heats the battery before charging to optimize charging performance
- Lane Keeping Control (LKC) toggle: LKC can now be switched directly via the Convenience Bar
Function Optimization
- DC Charging Curve: Improved stability and efficiency of the DC charging process
- ADAS Driving Control: Enhanced driving experience with refined Advanced Driver Assistance logic
- Child Presence Detection (CPD): More reliable CPD behavior under various conditions
Versioning Info
This Update was showing up as 1.2.1 irrespective it was announced to be 1.2.0. Compared to the updates earlier, this is now a stable version for use. You can check the Version Number dated 25.03 (v1.2.1 / 51.1.4.2503110). A fun fact: you can also use the indicator, that you have now a YouTube App available.
Conclusion
As this was my first and only OTA Update of my Sealion 7 so far, I can’t tell you more about improvements in the past.
I am still looking forward to a proper “Release Notes” page at BYD, but I guess you do also?
