Global insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced that Andy Marcell has been appointed CEO of Global Solutions, a key role aimed at further integrating Aon’s Risk Capital and Human Capital capabilities.
Since joining Aon in 2015, Marcell has played a key role in reshaping the firm’s approach to client service. Most recently, he served as CEO of Risk Capital, where he led the unification of Aon’s Commercial Risk and Reinsurance businesses.
Marcell, who joined Aon in 2015, will remain CEO of Reinsurance until September 1, 2025, when John Neal, former CEO of Lloyd’s, is set to join Aon, and he will continue to report to Aon President and CEO, Greg Case, and serve on the Aon Executive Committee.
Marcell steps into the Global Solutions role during a period of ongoing strategic realignment at Aon.
Earlier this month, the firm named Lambros Lambrou, formerly CEO of Human Capital, as its new global Chief Strategy Officer. A comprehensive search is underway for a successor to lead Aon’s Human Capital division.
Marcell, commented: “Lambros and the Human Capital leadership team have made tremendous progress integrating our Health, Wealth and Talent teams to deliver differentiated data, insights and expertise.”
He continued: “I’m looking forward to bringing our Risk Capital and Human Capital teams closer together to address the unprecedented volatility and complexity facing our clients.”
Aon also confirmed that at its upcoming Investor Day on June 9th, 2025, Marcell will present and is expected to discuss the firm’s integrated approach to serving clients across Risk Capital and Human Capital.
It’s also worth highlighting that Paul Schultz, former CEO of Aon Securities, recently became Global Vice Chair of Reinsurance at Aon.
