Before installing the Group Buy Discount Add-on, please ensure the following:

  • The Cs-Cart Data Grid System Add-on must be installed and active.
  • Without the Cs-Cart Data Grid System, the Group Buy Add-on will not function properly or may fail to install.

After downloading the CS-Cart Group Buy Discount add-on, you’ll get one zip file, one install.txt file, and a relevant User Guide manual doc. Read it carefully for proper configuration.

Go to Manage Add-ons, and click on “Manual Installation” as shown below in the snapshot.

Cs-Cart Group Buy Discount Add-on Configuration

After installing the add-on, you will find CS-Cart Group Buy Discount in the list of available add-ons. After that, we will configure the settings.

Click on “settings” to enable, disable, install, or refresh.

Make sure the add-on is activated, as shown in the snapshot below

To configure the module, go to the Add-Ons >> Developers >> Webkul Software Pvt Ltd>> Group Buy >> Settings.

Completing these configurations ensures smooth generation and management of USPS shipping labels directly from your CS-Cart backend, as shown in the snapshot below.

CS-Cart Group Buy Discount Add-on — In the Group Buy Credentials configuration section, the admin must enter the necessary details to configure and activate the add-on. The required fields include:

  • Group Count allows admins to limit how many total groups a customer can create across all products.
    In this case, if it’s set to 2, the customer can’t create more than two groups.
  • How Group Buy Works lets admins display a custom message on product pages.
    That way, customers understand how the Group Buy offer works before joining.

Steps to Add a Group Block :

1: Access Theme Editor

  • Go to Admin Panel → Website → Theme.
  • Choose the Products Tabs section where you want to add a block.

2: Navigate To Products Tab

  • Click on Add Tab to create a new section in the product layout.
  • This opens the configuration area to add new content.

3: Create New Block

  • Choose the Block option to insert custom content.
  • Click Create to start configuring your new block.

4: Configure & Save

  • Under Create New Block, select the _block_groups category.

  • Enter a name like Groups, choose the group template, and click Create to save.

Admin adds a new product to the group buy category

To enable the Group Buy Option in the products, the admin needs to navigate to Group Buy > Products List as per the image below:

Here, the complete listing of products with the Group Buy Option can be seen by the admin.

Also, the admin can add new products to the Group Buy category by clicking on the Add button.

For adding the product:

  • Product Name: Admin selects the product to offer under the Group Buy deal.
  • Group Buy Price: Admin sets the special discounted price for group buyers.
  • Start Date: The admin defines when the campaign will begin..
  • End Date: Admin sets the final date for the Group Buy campaign.
  • Group Size: Admin specifies how many members are needed to activate the discount.
  • Minimum Quantity: Admin sets the least number of units a customer must order.
  • Maximum Quantity: Admin limits the highest number of units allowed per customer.
  • Status: Admin enables or disables tracking of the product’s Group Buy status.

For managing the groups, the admin has to navigate through Group Buy > Groups as per the image below:

Here, the admin can see the existing groups’ information, such as Group Name, Group creation date, End date, Group Size, How many members have joined the group till now, and the status of the Group.

Also, the admin can click on the settings button of the group to edit the Status of the existing group.

  • The admin can view the group details as per the above image.
  • The admin can see members of the group under Joined Members.
  • The Group’s Notes are created every time an action is performed on the group, such as group creation, a New member joins the group, Group status changes.
  • The admin can perform various actions on the group, such as Processing, Qualified, Disqualified, and Refunded.

Group Actions:

  • Processing – When a customer creates a group but the group size has not yet reached the required limit, the admin can set the status of the group to Processing during that period.
  • Qualified – Once the group successfully reaches the required number of members within the given time frame, the admin changes the status to Qualified and processes the orders at the discounted price.
  • Disqualified – If the group fails to complete the required size within the allotted time, the admin can mark the group as Disqualified.
  • Refunded – In cases where a group is disqualified, the admin may refund the customers’ payments and then update the group status to Refunded.

The customer can see all the Group Buy type of products under the Group Buy menu as per image below:

The customer can select the product as per their choice and see the Create Group option or can Join the Existing Group to purchase the product.

If customers want to create a new group to purchase the product, they simply need to click on the Create Group button.

Once the customer has clicked on the Create Group button, the product is added to the cart.

After that, they can proceed to the checkout of the product, and consequently, a group is created for that product.

Also, the customer can join the existing group to purchase the product at a discounted price. After clicking on the Join Existing Group, they can see all the created groups of that particular product.

From here, the customer can click on the Buy Together button to join that group and proceed for the checkout.

Also, they can see the number of join members on the group, group expiry time, the group creator name.

Note: Once a product from having Group Buy option is added to the cart, then a customer cannot add a new product to the cart. A customer has to order a standalone product.
