Chicago Cubs, Security Partners Slammed With Wrigley Field Biometric Privacy Violation Claims

An Illinois man claims the Chicago Cubs violated the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by collecting facial recognition information and biometric identifiers from the guests who attend Cubs games at Wrigley Field. The plaintiff filed the class-action complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Monday against the Cubs and their contracted security services, Blue Star Security and Security Services Holdings, doing business as Protos Security, seeking $5,000 per BIPA violation under the statute.
