Leaker provides another look at TechWoven iPhone 17 cases

A leaker with a shaky history has shared more photos of the supposed FineWoven replacement cases for iPhone 17, which give a better look at their color and texture.

The leaker known as Majin Bu has been hit and miss over the years, and has a bad habit of sharing images and leaks without attribution. Even the latest set of photos has at least one that didn’t originate with Bu.

The images posted to Majin Bu’s website show a gray blue, navy, green, purple, and orange set of cases. They’ve got a textured pattern not dissimilar from FineWoven, but are being called the new “TechWoven” leaked previously.

The cases are for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is clearly indicated by the giant camera bar cutout at the top of the case. The buttons on the side are metallic, so they’ll be easier to press.

Overall, there’s not much to see here, though it is difficult to determine the authenticity of these leaks. Bu claims they are Apple’s official cases, and boxes shown Wednesday look official, but have a May 2025 manufacture date.

To complicate the leak further, each of the three images in the post appears to be from different sources. The side view was previously posted to X on August 15 by an account called @smartechdaily.

The top-down table view doesn’t appear to have an earlier origin, at least in photo form. Bu has been known to take screenshots of various videos found on the web, however.

Whether the images and claims originate with Bu or not, they’re still rumored iPhone cases. We’re posting them here with a possible score since these products seem to exist in the wild somewhere, and they are at least probable.

There’s also a conflict of interest with these leaks.

Bu is also selling iPhone 17 cases as a way to monetize his work as a leaker. So, since these leaks appear to be sourced externally to Bu or any real Apple source, expect they may just be a ploy to sell more cases.

Apple will reveal the iPhone 17 lineup during an event in September. The Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 are also expected at the event.
