Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) is a non-profit educational and spiritual service organization that has been promoting heart-based living through meditation as a means to universal peace and harmony for over 75 years, since its inception in 1945. Udaan Youth Club (UYC) is one of the partner institutions of the Heartfulness Essay Event 2025, actively encouraging youth from diverse backgrounds to participate in this reflective and values-driven writing competition.

Contest Details

The Heartfulness Essay Event 2025 is a unique opportunity for young individuals to pause, reflect, and express their thoughts on meaningful themes that inspire personal growth and social awareness. Participants are invited to explore the themes not just intellectually but also through their personal experiences, observations, and inner reflections. The goal is to connect with one’s inner self—tuning into the quiet guidance of the heart—and share those insights in writing.

Essays may be written in any one of the following 12 approved languages, allowing participants from diverse linguistic backgrounds to express themselves in the language they are most comfortable with: English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu.

The event provides a platform for youth to develop both their writing skills and their capacity for introspection and values-based thinking—an essential foundation for holistic education and responsible citizenship.

Categories and Topics

  • Category 1 [Ages 14–18 years] – Word Limit: 500
    Topic: “Individual evolution is not possible without the support of others.”
  • Category 2 [Ages 19–25 years] – Word Limit: 750
    Topic: “Being in tune with Nature is a prerequisite for human evolution.”

Contest Guidelines

  • There is no participation fee.
  • Only one essay per participant is allowed.
  • Essays must be typed or clearly handwritten on A4 paper using black or blue ink.
  • Every page must include the participant’s name, father’s name, age, and institution name (if applicable).
  • Total word count must be mentioned at the end of the essay.
  • Essays must not include slogans, illustrations, or appeals.
  • After submission, note your Enrolment Number shown on screen.

Awards and Recognitions

  • One winner and one runner-up will be selected for each language in both age groups. They will receive a trophy and a certificate.
  • Students who come in 3rd to 10th place in each language and age group will receive a memento and a rank certificate.
  • The top 10% of entries (as shortlisted by the judges) in each language and category will receive a Merit Certificate.
  • All students who submit their essay correctly and meet the guidelines will get an e-certificate of participation.
  • Some top participants may be invited for an interview by phone or video as part of the final selection.
