GPT-5 Just Landed In ChatGPT, Here’s What You Need to Know

OpenAI has officially launched GPT-5, and it’s a huge step forward. The new model is now available inside ChatGPT, and if you’ve been using earlier versions like GPT-4 or GPT-4o, you’re definitely going to notice the upgrade.

GPT-5 is faster, more accurate, and just a lot better at understanding what you really want from it.

The biggest highlight? It’s way less likely to make things up. OpenAI says GPT-5 is 45% less likely to give you wrong facts when using web search, and 80% more accurate when it’s doing deep reasoning tasks. That means fewer hallucinations and much more trustworthy answers across the board.

Coding also gets a major boost. GPT-5 is OpenAI’s best coding model yet. Whether you’re building front-end projects, debugging large repositories, or just trying to make your code work, this model handles it all much better than before. And if you ask health-related questions or need help with writing, it’s been improved in those areas too.

Another cool new feature? Personalities. You can now pick how GPT-5 responds to you by choosing from four fun modes: Cynic, Robot, Listener, and Nerd. Want dry humor? Go with Cynic. Prefer straight-up facts? Robot’s your friend. Feeling chatty? Listener’s got your back. Want a flood of enthusiastic facts? Nerd’s perfect.

Also, GPT-5 is just more honest overall. It’s less likely to pretend it knows something when it doesn’t. If your prompt doesn’t make sense or it lacks the tools to help, GPT-5 will straight up tell you instead of faking it.

As for access, GPT-5 is available to all ChatGPT users. If you’re on the Plus plan, you’ll get more usage before hitting any limits. And if you’re a Pro subscriber, you get GPT-5 Pro, a version with even more advanced reasoning. Once you hit your usage cap, you’ll be switched to a lightweight version of GPT-5 for the rest of your session.
