from the so-you-say dept

This week, our first place winner on the insightful side is Arianity with a comment about how RFK Jr. approaches things:

He is literally a eugenicist. If you dig down into his beliefs, he consistently thinks that if you die to something, it’s because you were “weak” and deserved it.

In second place, it’s MrWilson with a comment about Trump firing the Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner:

The headlines should be highlighting the absurdity: Man who pushed out 150,000 government employees insists no jobs have been lost and anyone who says differently will lose their job.

For editor’s choice on the insightful side, we start out with another comment from MrWilson, this time about the revelations of what prisoners experienced in CECOT:

This is what Trump supporters voted for. You don’t get to say, “Well, I voted for getting the immigrants out, but I didn’t want them to be tortured…” This is what that always meant. There’s no humane way to be xenophobic. There’s no innocent “oopsies!” bigotry. You’d rather someone be tortured than share in the limited resources of your community that the people you’re voting for are limiting for the benefit of themselves and their wealthy friends. With his higher taxes, economic downturns, and tariffs (i.e. just more taxes), Trump is the one taking your jobs, not immigrants.

Next, it’s That One Guy with a comment about Trump killing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting:

Nothing threatens a liar like truth

In a regime where reality is the enemy of the state accurate reporting and coverage is an existential threat.

Over on the funny side, our first place winner is one more comment from MrWilson, this time about RFK Jr. taking cancer’s side in the war on cancer:

Hey, we lost the War on Drugs. Cancer smelled blood in the water and probably recruited a team of brain worms as sleeper agents to turn assets in the government to its side.

In second place, it’s Bloof with a comment about the failures of Tesla FSD:

Fool self driving is delivering exactly what it promised.

For editor’s choice on the funny side, we start out with a comment from Heart of Dawn about Politico’s failing AI experiment:

The old saying “to err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer” is now more true than ever.

Finally, it’s an anonymous comment about DOGE wasting some $21.7 billion during its “efficiency theater”:

Half a Twitter in 6 months? Sounds about Musk paced.

That’s all for this week, folks!
