This award follows a rigorous tender process that saw multiple international contenders.

The Blueye ROVs will be deployed across a range of naval missions, which include aiding diving operations for various underwater tasks, enhancing surface swimmer and small boat operations in diverse aquatic environments, and supporting military engineer reconnaissance in surveying water bodies and infrastructure.

Additionally, these vehicles will be deployed for harbour protection by facilitating underwater inspections and threat detection, as well as in mine countermeasure operations by helping divers locate and neutralise potential underwater mines.

The underwater drones will also assist civilian authorities in search and recovery missions and the inspection of submerged military assets.

Blueye’s ROV are portable and capable of accommodating sonars, positioning systems, and intervention tools for both military and civilian applications.

Blueye Robotics CEO Christian Gabrielsen said: “Together with our highly valued partner, Rutger van Duijn at RVI Tools, we are proud to support the Netherlands Royal Navy with our underwater dual-use ROV technology. This contract demonstrates the global trust in the Blueye ROV platform and reinforces our commitment to developing innovative, easy-to-use tools that enhance mission effectiveness and safety underwater.”

The contract awarded to Blueye Robotics and RVI Tools was influenced by a range of considerations, including the dependability of the system, the interchangeability of sensors, user simplicity, and the capacity to function effectively in demanding conditions.

The agreement also encompasses training provisions by Blueye Robotics and RVI Tools, which includes on-site instruction and access to an extensive online support platform featuring technical documentation and training videos.

“We look forward to continue the strong, long-term relationship with both the Netherlands Royal Navy and Blueye Robotics, supporting their missions with our expertise and commitment,” RVI Tools owner Rutger van Duijn said.
