BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 Review: Small Form, Big Power

[ad_1]

Top Pick 2025 Site

It’s been a minute since I’ve done a portable power station review, and my, how things have changed. When these portable power stations started hitting the market, they were some beastly boys. Now, devices like the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 are packing in the power but keeping light on their feet. While there are other options, even from BLUETTI themselves, that have more punch. The BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 really does pack enough power here to satisfy most general users.

Estimated reading time: 9 minutes

That said, some users who are in the outback and in need of a larger battery should probably look at some of BLUETTI’s larger offerings. I think this will suit some of those scenarios, but for prolonged outings where you’re away from a power source for a long period. I think maybe a larger BLUETTI is prudent. Though you can always recharge the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 via the power outlets in your car. Let’s just get into this review.

The Quick Take

BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 review 1

The BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 is an excellent portable power station that’s lightweight, portable, and can handle a wide range of power needs. I found it excellent for use in the car on long road trips where everyone needed some power for laptops, smartphones, tablets, and small electronic devices. What makes this perfect for my use case is the size and ease of handling. I highly recommend the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 for anyone, but especially if you’re a dad with a family and need to keep them powered up on road trips. This thing rocks!

Design

The BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 design is mostly what you’d expect from these portable power stations. Except. This one is very compact and also not very heavy. It’s easy to carry around, and even my little kids can move it without an issue using the built-in handle. I think this compact design and lightweight portability are one of the key design features of this power station.

It tucks in nicely in our cars without taking up much space at all. I previously was using another portable power station for road trips that was nearly twice as big as this and much heavier. This one has less power but enough power for my needs, and it is easier to handle.

The build is all heavy-duty plastic, but it feels solid. I think it’s robust enough to take some bumps and bruises. The handle is built-in and along the back. The top is flat, and the bottom has some feet for stability. Most of the action is on the front, but the AC input is on the right side.

The front has that very nice display that is easy to read and pretty good even in bright light. It does catch a glare once in a while, depending on angles. But overall, it is very readable and provides all the info you need to monitor input and output voltages.

The front has all of your inputs and outputs, which include:

  • OUTPUT
    • Capacity: 288 Wh (18 Ah)
    • Inverter Type: Pure Sine Wave
    • Lifting Power: 1,500 W
    • Output Power: 600W in total, 120V, 5A
  • USB-C Port:
    • 1 x 100W Max.
    • 1 x 140W Max.
    • USB-A Port: 2 x 15W, 5V/3A
  • DC Outlets:
    • 1 x 12V/10A Car Outlet
    • 2 x 12V/5A DC5521 Port
  • INPUT
    • AC Input (with Bypass): 980W Max.
    • AC Input: 380W Max.
    • Solar Input: 12V-28V, 10A Max., 200W
    • AC Charging Time: 80% in 45 mins @ 25°C / 77°F
    • Solar Charging Time: 2.2H
    • Charging Options: AC / PV / Car / Generator / AC+PV

There are plenty of ports here to keep my family of six powered up with ease on road trips. I do wish there were several more USB-C ports, since I am almost all moved over to USB-C and rarely have USB-A around. But not a huge deal. The two USB-A ports at 15W are plenty for smartphones and headphones. I just like the convenience of USB-C since that has now become the industry standard.

Overall, the design is nice and it is simple. The bevy of port options and the lightweight portability are this unit’s best features in terms of design.

Ease of Use/App

Using the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 is simple. Plug and play. First, you should charge the battery to full. I used a house outlet, but you can charge via your car or solar. While that’s happening, you can download the Bluetti app, though you don’t need it if you don’t want it. The app simply shows you performance numbers and stats at a glance. In case you might be in another area away from the main display.

I will say, it is important to know what your devices can charge at and use the appropriate cables and ports for them. Throwing your laptop on the USB-A port at 15W and your earbuds on the USB-C port at 100W is probably not the best idea. So choosing your ports wisely is key to getting the best out of this unit.

Once fully charged, you can start plugging your gear in and siphoning off the juice to your devices. It’s really that easy, and the app is also simple but really not needed. Overall, you can’t beat simple, and this is simple.

Performance/Battery Life

As for performance and battery life. Well, the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 performs well and supports all the advertised outputs and inputs it states. The battery life is going to vary, and that’s very difficult to really pinpoint. It truly depends on what you have plugged in and how much power is being pulled. I will only say that the battery life was more than enough for how I used it. It lasts through our road trips without an issue, only needing recharging for trips back. Depending on how long the trip is.

Price/Value

Coming in at USD 299, this unit isn’t cheap, but it’s also not overly expensive. As of this review, you can find it on sale for USD 199. The 299 price point is good, but the sale price is an almost must-buy price. I think that this unit holds its value and is especially worth it at sale pricing.
