It’s always fun to get something different to review, and the NAVEE ST3 and NAVEE GT3 electric scooters fit that bill. The NAVEE ST3 and GT3 electric scooters are designed to give urban dwellers ultimate mobility in a small package that can be stored out of the way. But they’re also pretty freaking fun to ride on bike trails and just around your neighborhood. These scooters are multipurpose in that they’ll serve the urban office worker who needs to navigate busy city streets as well as those who just want a bit of fun on their local trails and roads.

I will admit, both the NAVEE ST3 and GT3 are fun to ride, and my kids enjoyed the snot out of them. But losing the novelty of a human foot-powered scooter is a little sad. But not that sad, less work with battery power! Before we jump into this review. I am combining the NAVEE ST3 and GT3 into one review as they are pretty similar with some slight spec differences. Please see the specs section for the differences. Let’s get into this review!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be sure to always wear a helmet and safety gear whenever operating a scooter or any sort of electric vehicle.
The Quick Take

With a range of over 30 miles. The NAVEE ST3 and GT3 are perfect for those urban dwellers who work and play within that range. Getting to work on foot in the city can be a pain in the butt, and these scooters aim to make life easier. What makes these scooters great for urban dwellers and for those just looking to have fun is the great suspension, braking, range, and safety features. While these can be a little pricey, urban dwellers will find savings in not having to hail cabs or grab Ubers all the time. I highly recommend the NAVEE ST3 and GT3.

Design/Comfort

The NAVEE ST3 and GT3 designs are not only really good-looking, they are downright functional as well. The handle bars come up to a good level for most riders, though some shorter riders may not be as comfortable. I’d say mostly small children may have some issues here. My youngest is just over 5′ 2″ tall, and she was just comfortable enough. So test that out before you throw your kids out on these.
The grips are cushy and easy to hold, and the thumb accelerator is in a precise spot and gives you some excellent control over the throttle. The brake levers are nicely placed, but again, if you have tiny hands (mostly child-like hands) they may be a reach for you.
The platform is plenty wide for even my size 12 kickers, and the weight limit sits at 265 lbs for both of these. I am a bit heavier than 265, and I rode these both a few times, but not more than a few times. They performed just fine and felt comfy to ride, though I was scared out of my head. I’m not used to scooters, LOL.

The tires and suspension on the NAVEE ST3 are like a Cadillac—so comfy and cushy. The GT3 has a nice ride as well, but the extra damping arm on the NAVEE ST3 really helps make the ride a lot more pleasant. Not that the GT3 isn’t comfy; it was fine.
The design is stylish, attractive, and eye-catching. The materials used are all premium, and the build quality was excellent. The ability to fold these down and transport them was a great addition. The smaller footprint of the NAVEE ST3 and GT3 also makes them perfect for stowing away in an office or cubicle. No need to leave them chained up outside.
The LED lights all around are very bright; though we did not ride at night, they should keep you plenty seen. There are side reflective markers as well that work very well. Overall, this is a very cool-looking design with a ton of utility and the build and material quality are fantastic.

App/Software
The app is super simple; it allows you to connect to the ST3 and GT3 for firmware updates as well as battery and performance information. Some users may not like the fact that you are required to have the app and register to get these scooters going. I don’t mind it, but some users may not like the hassle of yet another app and login.
There have been some users who have complained about app connectivity to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features. I never had an issue, and once you get these set up and going. I found that the phone doesn’t even need to be present to use them. My kids used these all the time without me having to be right there with them.
Overall, I think the app is useful and needed for firmware upgrades. But I can see how some users may not like the extra layer of technology and software. Doesn’t bother me in this instance, but it does on some other devices, so I can empathize.

Performance/Battery
The NAVEE ST3 and GT3 aren’t that far off in battery life/range. The ST3 has a 37-mile range, while the GT3 has 31 miles. But, we have to remember. Battery life will be very subjective and highly dependent on how you use these scooters.
Some things to consider are weight, lighting, speed, grades/hills, and other real-world factors. That being said. I did not test these out in an urban environment, and I am sure battery life will be different in those situations given traffic and pedestrians.
We used these on bike trails and around our own neighborhood with plenty of hills and other terrain. I found the kids could get around 33 miles of range on the NAVEE ST3 and 26 miles of range on the GT3. These ranges did fluctuate up and down, but it was always different because of the different situations we put them in. So expect battery life to be fairly close to advertised, but know it will be different most of the time.
As for performance, holy cow, the NAVEE ST3 and GT3 have some of the best performance you can get. With a max speed of 20mph, never downhill (holy heck, be careful!). You can limit the speed on these, which is good for kids.

Plus, both of these scooters have EXCELLENT suspension systems. The NAVEE ST3 has a front damping arm that makes for a very cushy ride over pavement and uneven terrain. I would not recommend riding these on gravel; at least we didn’t try because I was afraid of slipping with these slimmer tires. But we did go through grass, dirt, and small grassy hills, and these suspension systems worked amazingly well. The ST 3 is just a bit better in the comfort area.
Another fantastic part of the performance of the ST3 and GT3 is the braking systems. Disc braking systems that absolutely stop you when you need stopping. I never once worried that my kids were in danger of not being able to stop.
The deck is also plenty wide for even my big feet, and both scooters can handle riders up to 265 pounds, so these will serve a wide range of users well. The array of LED lighting for safety is fantastic. You have LED blinkers, LED brake lights, LED headlights, and side reflector markers for night safety.
The tires on the NAVEE ST3 are vacuum jelly, while the GT3 gets tubeless tires. Both of these are fantastic, and they ride nicely, and they should last a good long while. I love that you don’t have to worry about losing air.
Overall, the battery life and performance on both the NAVEE ST3 and GT3 are fantastic, and a lot of the price tag was sunk into this part of the scooters, and it shows.

Price/Value
The NAVEE ST3 starts at USD 849, and the GT3 starts at USD 549. That’s not pocket change. But for users who want something for urban commuting, I think the value is here. For the money you spend on taxis, buses, and Ubers, it is worth it. You would probably pay this off in just a matter of months. These also do go on sale, and as of this review, they are on sale. So keep an eye out for those sales on Amazon and on the NAVEE site.
