Do I Walk Away from the Dream I Prayed For? –

When Is It Time to Quit?

When is it a time to get out?

Does this mean failure?

Lately, I’ve been thinking about getting out of the game of personal training, but I feel I’m doing a disservice to myself.

I feel like I’m doing a disservice to what I prayed for.

I Prayed for This

There were times back in 2017, 2018, 2019 when I was primarily driving Uber to bridge the gap of finances between personal training. There were times where I was in the car just praying to God—

“Man, I want to get off this road. I want to do personal training full-time.”

And my prayers were answered.

I acquired clients. I was able to stop driving Uber for at least a year, maybe a year and a half. Then COVID hit. Things kind of changed, but honestly—for the best.

COVID Changed Everything

I was able to maintain a lot of personal training clientele, but that still wasn’t enough.

There were times I had to go out on the road—maybe a night or two, an afternoon or two, or just a drive or two—just to get some change

To get some money.

Am I Back Where I Started?

Now, I feel like I’m right back in that same spot again. I’m debating activating my Uber account and starting to drive again.

But for how long?

Everything that comes with that… I’ve been there, and I’ve done that. But for how long would that even last? How long would that cover me?

Not enough.

Do I Need to Let Go?

Now, my thought process is shifting. I’m thinking I may have to go full in on a job—clocking in and clocking out—just so I can have some stability.

I am 43 years old right now, and I need stability. In my life. In my finances.

Because the coming and going of personal training clients—it’s too shaky. It’s too wishy-washy. Especially at this point in my life.

I Need to Make Sure My Family Is Secure

That’s where I’m at.

I need to make sure my family is secure.

I need to make sure I am secure.

And I’m still trying to figure out if letting go of this dream means I’ve failed… or if it just means I’ve grown….
