Canadian-made Warframe getting Android beta this fall

A closed beta for London, Ont.-based Digital Extremes’ Warframe will launch this fall for Android phones.

The massively popular online action-RPG/shooter made its mobile debut in February 2024 on iOS. You can pre-register for the Android version now through the official Warframe website, and you’ll receive the Cumulus Collection once you log into the game. Digital Extremes says the full list of compatible Android devices will be shared later this year.

Notably, the mobile version of Warframe offers the full experience that’s available on consoles and PC. Cross-play is also supported between all of these platforms.

News of the Android beta came out of TennoCon, the annual celebration of Warframe in London, Ont. This year, Digital Extremes revealed a slew of news related to Warframe and its gestating fantasy MMORPG, Soulframe.

Warframe announcements included a tease at this fall’s big new narrative chapter, The Old Peace, as well as next year’s Tau narrative chapter. Meanwhile, we got to see more gameplay from Soulframe and DE even revealed that anyone who’s registered to take part in the Preludes tests by the end of the weekend will be given access.
