The programme, which is in its fourth year, works to support and grow the next generation of Ireland’s green business leaders.
Bord na Móna has announced that it is accepting applications for the 2026 Accelerate Green Grow Programme, an accelerator for climate-focused enterprises.
Designed specifically for SMEs and STEM entrepreneurs with ambitions to scale or pivot in the climate sector, the programme is in its fourth year and will commence in January 2026.
Since its foundation in 2022, 60 Irish companies have been supported as they expanded into new markets, secured investment and collectively contributed more than 700 jobs to Ireland’s economy.
In partnership with Resolve Partners, the programme combines eight intensive modules that will incorporate strategic business workshops, mentoring and industry engagement. Areas of innovation will include renewable energy, sustainable software, the circular economy, biodiversity, healthcare, food-tech and related environmental sectors.
There will be an opportunity to pilot climate-focused solutions with Bord na Móna, as well as present innovations at the programme’s capstone conference, which will be attended by more than 300 stakeholders.
Commenting on the news Tom Donnellan, the chief executive of Bord na Móna said, “Accelerate Green is a cornerstone of our commitment to Ireland’s climate transition. We are proud to support innovators who are not only building successful businesses but are also making real contributions to biodiversity, sustainability and carbon reduction.
“Accelerate Green Grow 2026 will continue to strengthen Ireland’s position as a global leader in climate entrepreneurship. It is an unmissable opportunity for businesses looking to grow and scale in the sustainability sector and I encourage all to apply. I look forward to meeting the newest cohort of Grow participants and learning more about their unique climate solutions.”
Companies that have found success in Ireland’s evolving climate and sustainability sectors, post-programme, include Hibra Design, an automotive engineering development business, which this month will begin a pilot programme in partnership with Bord na Móna’s Land and Habitats team.
The Boglands Electric Tractor Re-engineering pilot project will look into how tractor fleets can align with ongoing climate goals, via electrification and the reduction of the overall carbon footprint generated by farming vehicles.
Companies interested in the Accelerate Green Grow programme have until 7 November to apply to be among the 2026 cohort.
