Samsung fans looking for a premium experience without the top-tier price tag have some news for you. It seems like some juicy details about key upgrades coming to the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE have emerged. This will be the next model in the company’s “almost flagship” series of mobile devices. As a preview, the report points to a refinement rather than a revolution. However, there is some very good news regarding battery life.
LTPO display as key upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE
The leak from Techmaniacs (via Gadgetsdata) mentions a notable display improvement. However, we’re not talking about quality improvements—there are no specific details yet. It looks like Samsung will finally integrate LTPO technology as a big upgrade to the Galaxy S25 FE’s display. If you’re not aware, LTPO tech enables a much wider range of refresh rates. In this case, the device’s 120Hz panel could drop to 1Hz depending on the usage scenario—for example, while looking at a static image. What does this mean for you? LTPO displays are generally more power-efficient, so you can expect better battery life.
In terms of design, the S25 FE is also rumored to be getting a bit of a makeover. Samsung is reportedly aiming for a thinner and lighter profile at 7.8mm and 190g. For reference, the current S24 FE has 8mm thickness and 213g weight. Every little bit of reduction helps with comfort during extended use.
Exynos 2400 chip, potentially bigger battery
Under the hood, it looks like Samsung is giving the S25 FE a slight processing boost. The firm would implement the Exynos 2400 chip in the handset. In case you don’t remember, the S24 FE uses the Exynos 2400e, a slightly toned-down version. This could translate to snappier performance across the board. Some leaked benchmarks showed promising gaming and AI performance.
Battery life is always a key concern, and the S25 FE seems poised to deliver here as well. The leak suggests a larger 4,900mAh battery, up from the S24 FE’s 4,700mAh. Combined with the efficiency of the LTPO display, this hints at some serious potential for longer usage times. There is also a possibility of upgraded 45W charging via USB-C. This would be a welcome improvement considering that the current model only supports 25W.
September-October launch timeframe
The report also mentions a September/October launch timeframe for the Galaxy S25 FE. As for the cameras, earlier reports pointed to an upgraded 12MP selfie shooter, compared to the S24 FE’s 10MP. However, the rear camera system might remain the same as its predecessor. We will have to wait for more details on that front.
Overall, the Galaxy S25 FE is shaping up to be a compelling upgrade. In particular, the addition of the LTPO display and the larger battery seem promising. It remains to be seen whether Samsung can convince with a suitable price tag.
