Apple Planning to Launch Base iPad in Spring of 2026

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said that Apple is working on the low-cost 12th generation iPad for a spring launch.

It’s believed that two 11-inch iPad models are in the works, based on their code. J582 and J581 could refer to storage capacity, which also means that there will be two options. Currently, the iPad 11 comes in 512, 256, and 128GB storage variants. According to Gurman, the 12th generation iPad will have more or less the same design as its predecessor, with the exception being a newer chip. The analyst did not say which chip would be used for the base iPad. It’s worth noting that the iPad 11 has the A16 chip.

A quick turnaround in terms of development is expected. Apple is pushing for the release of the new iPad models in April or March next year. The iPad 11 launched at roughly the same time at $349 for the base variant.
