A Lot To Offer For A Good Price

Top Pick 2025 Site

I had just about given up on Android tablets. It seemed iPad had won the war, and we would just move on. But 2024 and 2025 have seen a resurgence of the Android tablet, like the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus and the more affordable Idea Tab Pro. Last year I reviewed the Tab Plus, and that was the genesis of this resurgence. For the first time, Apple really does have some competition from Android tablets, aside from Samsung. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is just as fantastic as its less expensive sibling, but you get a few more goodies and slightly better specs and design.

Lenovo really put together a compelling package in the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus. This thing goes on sale frequently, and you’re getting the Pro Pen, the keyboard, and the stand in one box. There’s a lot to think about when considering this tablet, and I think many users will find this to be one of the best-value Android tablets on the market.

The Quick Take

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 6

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus isn’t a perfect tablet; there really isn’t one of those. But it gets a lot right, and it offers immense value when doing it. 2025 has given me some hope for Android tablets, and the Yoga Tab Plus is one of the tablets leading that charge. From its colorful 3K display to the included accessories and better software experience. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is easily a must-consider if you’re looking for an Android tablet.

Nailed it

  • Slick design with a premium build quality
  • Keyboard and pen included
  • Android has made big improvements and this is upgradeable to Android 16
  • Beautiful 3K LCD Display
  • Excellent sound
  • Lenovo SmartConnect is great
  • Price is fantastic for this entire package

Needs work

  • An OLED display would have been better
  • Battery life could be better

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus has a clean, sleek, and elegant design. Even the long glass camera bump on the back looks nice, though that part is not protected and I’d be worried about a drop where the glass breaks. The display is wonderful, for a 3K IPS display. I would have preferred an OLED display, but this isn’t bad at all.

Android has gotten better on tablets, and this comes with Android 14 out of the box, and I upgraded to Android 15 within minutes. Support for Android 16 is here as well, and that is good news as Android tablets generally don’t see upgrades. You also get security patches for several more years.

The performance is superb with gaming, basic functions, and pen use The basics are easy to get through, and you can even do some good gaming here. This tablet should be able to handle AAA gaming fairly well, though it will drain battery and may get hot. The speakers were excellent here as well. Nice and loud with a decent soundstage that has a very good bottom end for tablet speakers.

Battery life is good, but maybe it could be better, and it supports 45W charging, and you get a pen included in the package. There is some bloatware that can be uninstalled, as expected. Overall, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is an excellent Android tablet that is a step up from the Idea Tab Pro. The price point is excellent, and you can often find it on sale on Lenovo’s website.

Design

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 2

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus has a heck of a design. I love the Seashell color, and the accessories give it a two-tone look that is very attractive.

The first thing you notice about the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is the long glass camera module on the back. This is branded with the Yoga branding and runs nearly the entire length of the tablet. The dual cameras are flush, as is the flash. I do worry that this glass portion of the tablet could easily break if the tablet is ever dropped.

Moving on down the back, you have aluminum, and the Lenovo branding is centered and very glossy. Flipping the tablet over, is of course, the 12.7″ 3K display that does have bezels, though they aren’t too big.

Along the bottom edge of the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus are the pogo pins for connecting the keyboard. The keyboard is full-sized and comfortable to type on. The trackpad is decent, small, but decent enough. This also comes with a kickstand that does a good job of holding the tablet up and is connected to the back via magnets.

Along the top edge are the volume rocker, some mics, and the magnetic charging area for the pen. The Tab Pen Pro is actually very nice and comfortable to use. It’s one of the better pens I’ve used on a tablet. Along the right side are the USB-C charging port and some speakers. Along the left side are the power button/fingerprint sensor and more speakers.

The tablet is super slim and light. Even the keyboard and stand don’t add much weight or thickness. Overall, this is a very lovely design with my only thought being that the glass camera slab could get damaged easily if dropped.

Display

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 10

The 12.7″ 3K display on the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is an LCD panel that reaches 900 nits, has a 144 Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision. I will get my big complaint out of the way first. This really should have been an OLED display. Samsung uses OLED, and I feel this tablet competes in that space, and it should have gotten the OLED treatment. With that said, this is really a nice display despite the lack of OLED.

This display certainly outperforms the Idea Tab Pro and is much brighter and more colorful, so you are getting your money’s worth here. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus does a better job in bright conditions and works nicely outdoors. Direct sunlight could be an issue, but I think most devices have issues in direct sunlight.

There is glare on this glossy display, but the higher nits and more colorful display do a good job of making the off-angle viewing decent and not horrible. Scrolling and touch are all excellent, and the pen is responsive. I can’t say how the pen and touch would work for drawing; I don’t draw, but for basic writing and stick figures it worked just fine. The pen does offer a haptic feedback that I found to be very cool. It feels like you’re writing on paper, very interesting.

Overall, this is an excellent display that would have been fabulous if it were OLED, but still, for what it is and for the price. This is pretty great. I would recommend this tablet over the Idea Tab Pro , if you want an outstanding display.

Software

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 3

Android tablets have been notoriously bad when it comes to software. Android has had a tough time making itself functional on a large tablet screen. Apps have historically been poorly rendered on these bigger tablet screens, and the overall experience has been rough. However, things are changing, and for the better.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is one of many Android tablets that are actually capable of running the latest version of Android. This has been one of my key complaints about Android tablets over the years. Historically, these types of tablets were a few years behind on software and would never see an update and never come with the most current version.

But the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus comes out of the box with Android 14, and it gave me the option to update to Android 15 almost right away. Lenovo says they will give this tablet the Android 16 treatment, and that’s good news. Security updates are also going to be applied for several years. These are all remarkable things to see after so many years of tablet neglect from nearly all brands making Android tablets.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 8

The interface is the best I’ve seen on Android tablets, and it feels much more cohesive and usable than ever before. There are some bloatware apps on the device, easily deleted, but it would be nice not to have any. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus touch and responsiveness are excellent, with everything feeling fluid and moving well.

There are still some apps that don’t render well and look like garbage, but most of your mainstream apps should be working much better and look much better on Android tablets these days. The bad apps aren’t Lenovo’s fault or Android, the developers need to update them.

One of the best software features on the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus and other Lenovo tablets is Lenovo SmartConnect. SmartConnect allows you to use the tablet as a second screen for your laptop or desktop. You just need to have the tablet and laptop/desktop on the same network and both running the SmartConnect app. This works amazingly well, and I love it!

Overall, I am thrilled that Android and Android tablet makers have finally put some effort into making something that’s usable and pleasing to use. Some work still needs to be done, but it’s minimal, and using an Android tablet in 2025 is a much more pleasant experience.

Performance and Camera

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 11

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 paired with 16 GB of RAM on the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus does an excellent job of delivering excellent performance for all basic tasks and entertainment consumption. Light gaming is very possible on this tablet, and heavy gaming is also possible, though the tablet may get hotter in heavy gaming sessions. I don’t do heavy gaming on these types of devices anyway, but for those who do, you’ve got the power.

I suspect most users buying this are going to do simple, light apps and games and not Call of Duty or Fortnite. But if you will do heavy gaming, you can do it and even pair a controller to it, if you so wish. Basic functions are all fluid here. Including gestures, app animations, app switching, browsing, and streaming, it all works flawlessly.

The included keyboard is comfortable, and the trackpad is fine—small, but fine. So it is possible to use this as a laptop with that keyboard. I don’t find the display large enough to use it as a laptop. It’s really a media consumption machine for me. The included pen is also great and has haptic feedback when drawing, which gives almost a paper-like response. It’s wild. I don’t do much drawing, but I did download some apps and doodle around for a bit. It was fun, and I am sure someone with far more talent than me will make use of this.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 13

The included kickstand works well and does an okay job of protecting the back of the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus but does nothing to protect that long glass camera ledge. I am worried that a drop will easily crack that glass camera ledge. But it is pretty remarkable that Lenovo includes the pen, keyboard, and stand in the package.

The cameras are fine, not the best, not the worst, and picture taking on a 12.7″ tablet is ill-advised anyway. Maybe you need it for something quick, and that’s all you have; fine, it does good enough. But really, these things aren’t intended to be smartphone replacements.

They do an impressive job as a secondary device, but most people aren’t buying these for camera performance. So overall, these are fine, not mind-blowing, and not anything to really cheer over. The cameras are also not the main focus of a tablet; people are using these for more entertainment purposes. The front-facing camera works really well for video conferencing.

Overall, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is a solid performer for a tablet. It’s focused on entertainment and gaming and should handle both very well. The cameras are fine, but I don’t fuss much over cameras on tablets.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 4

Speakers and Audio

With 2 tweeters and 4 subs alongside Dolby and Harman Kardon. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus has some serious sound chops. The sound here is better than the Idea Tab Pro, hands down. This tablet is great for entertainment consumption. No, this isn’t going to give you theater sound, but for a tablet, this has respectable performance. Lenovo is no stranger to good sound on tablets, though. Some of its other past tablets have done well in this department.

Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus 7

Battery Life

With a beefy, 10200mAh battery and 45-watt fast charging, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus has the same size battery as the Idea Tab Pro. I mainly used this tablet for entertainment consumption and some content browsing. But mostly, YouTube and streaming services.

I was able to get more than a few days out of the battery with moderate use. But I did notice the battery life wasn’t as good as the Idea Tab Pro. I’m guessing because the display is brighter on the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus and because it’s running a more powerful Snapdragon chip, some of that battery will be drained. due to that. I don’t feel it’s a significant loss, and the battery is still pretty amazing here.

Standby time is excellent, just like its less expensive sibling. Battery life is subjective, so it will vary from one person to another, and it is highly dependent on what you’re doing with the tablet. Overall, the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus should last an average user a few days of normal basic use. Obviously, gaming of any kind will drain the battery faster as well as heavy streaming consumption.

Price/Value

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is priced just under eight hundred dollars. But you can routinely find it on sale for just under six hundred dollars. What makes this a fantastic value is the Snapdragon processor, display, and included pen/keyboard and cover. There are a ton of great things going on for this tablet.
