Christian Monthly Journal Prompts – August 2025

Find peace from worry and deepen your faith as you practice trusting God one day at a time with the 31 Christian journal prompts and Bible verses for August, inspired by Matthew 6:34.

I tend to be a natural fixer.

Can you relate?

I see a problem – big or small – and feel an almost automatic pull to do something about it.

I research. I plan. I organize. And I try to carry the load myself.

Somewhere deep down, I’ve believed that if I just work hard enough, care about it enough, or understand it enough, I’ll be able to keep everything and everyone okay.

But that’s a heavy burden for human shoulders.

We were never meant to carry the weight of the world. We were created to need a Savior.

Yes, we are co-workers with God, called to act with wisdom and compassion. But we were never meant to solve every problem or fix every situation.

No wonder we’re weary and anxious. No wonder our minds are constantly buzzing with worst-case scenarios and to-do lists.

And in the age of social media, we aren’t just aware of our own struggles. We’re flooded with a whole world’s worth of heartbreaking headlines, urgent causes, and painful needs. These things are worth our care. But what if God is inviting us to respond in a better way than worrying?

Worrying feels productive. It makes us feel like we’re doing something – like our concern counts for more if we hold onto it tighter. But often, it just keeps us spinning our wheels – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

And in that spinning, we miss out on the joy of today. On God’s presence right now.

This month, the goal of the prompts is to help us slow down and pay attention. We’ll notice when those familiar worry-thoughts creep in, and instead of falling into the usual patterns, we’ll stop and ask – what if there’s another way?

How does the Bible show us to respond to our worries and our anxiety? What happens when we practice faith in the moment instead of trying to control the future?

These journal prompts are your invitation to meet God right here – in the midst of your unsolved problems, present worries, hopes, questions, and everyday moments.

He is not waiting for you to have it all figured out. He’s already here, ready to carry what you can’t and draw you deeper into trust, relationship, and peace.

Let’s spend August learning to live in this moment with God – trusting His faithfulness, releasing our need to fix everything, and experiencing the joy of walking with our Savior today.
