Bridgewater Bank has partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to deliver $800,000 to 23 nonprofits. The effort is part of its 2025 Member Impact Fund for affordable housing and community development, according to a press release.

This fund matches up to $3 for every $1 members give to nonprofits. The list of nonprofits include the Minnesota Housing Partnership, CommonBond Communities, Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota and Twin Cities Housing Alliance.

“As a local bank and leader in the affordable housing space, we are thrilled to amplify our community impact through this meaningful collaboration with FHLB Des Moines,” Nick Place, chief banking officer at Bridgewater Bank, said in the release. “This program strengthens our ability to support some of the most impactful organizations in our state and bring transformational resources to the table.”

The fund was first founded in 2023 and has given almost $70 million in grants.

“The Member Impact Fund continues to be a powerful resource in supporting our members as they expand access to affordable housing and drive community development,” Kris Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines, said in the release. “It’s inspiring to see the partnerships centered around improving local communities in such a variety of ways.”
