Uniswap Labs and the Uniswap Foundation have been hit with a lawsuit by litigators at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan on Tuesday for infringing patents directed to the automation of blockchain transactions and related technologies that enable transactions directly between cryptocurrency traders instead of banks or brokers.
And the plaintiffs, Bprotocol Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting the development and adoption of the Bancor Protocol, and LocalCoin Ltd., the original developer of the Bancor Protocol, said that since developing the “revolutionary” patented technology, their mission has been to bring innovative inventions to DeFi that “push the boundaries of what’s possible.”
