Authorities have arrested two men in Denver for allegedly jackpotting three ATMs in Wyoming. Yonaiker Alexander Fernandez Pedron and Yohandri Ramo Ramirez Gonzalez are being charged with possession of stolen bank property, according to a report by 9 News.
During the incidents, the men allegedly stole $54,000 from the ATMs in a variety of small towns. Security footage captured the license plate of the van used in the crime.
Jackpotting has seen a major increase in the past six months, according to Michael Strange, director of technology services at Cook Solutions Group.
“When they find an institution that is missing a security protocol, they have a vulnerability. They’ll really dog pile on that particular institution and just take advantage,” Strange told the news outlet.
