TV review season continues here at Techaeris land. We’ve had hands on time and reviews of Samsung’s flagship 8K and 4K TVs and now, we have the Samsung S95F OLED. OLED? You ask. Yes, Samsung does make OLED TVs. I know other brands have been known for their OLED TVs, and many people don’t think of Samsung when it comes to OLED technology. But, you’d be sorely mistaken to not consider Samsung a player in this market. Their S95 series of OLED TVs are some of the best in the industry, and the new 77″ Samsung S95F is the latest to enter the world.
Estimated reading time: 19 minutes
Samsung’s QLED technology keeps getting better every year and that technology is nearly on par now with OLED, in terms of black levels. Black levels were always the reason to buy an OLED TV, and this technology is still the best for black level performance. This is why Samsung still makes OLED TVs because people want them and while they are improving QLED black levels, they will continue to offer TVs like the Samsung S95F. Let’s get into this full review.
The Quick Take

There are a great many OLED TVs you can choose from, out there. Sony and LG are well known for their OLED TVs, and for good reason. The Samsung S95F creeps up behind the OLED titans and delivers a playful flick of the ear to its competition. Not everyone knows that Samsung offers OLED TVs, but those who do find out and then buy one, will be blown away by the Samsung S95F.

Design

The Samsung QN990F and QN900F were the last two Samsung TVs I reviewed. Those QLED TVs are closely related, while the Samsung S95F is slightly related. Because the S95F is an OLED display, it is much thinner and slimmer than either one of the QLED options.
The TV itself is lighter than the QN990F, but, the stand is about the same weight. Which I don’t mind at all, the stand is substantial and gives me confidence it will hold this beautiful display up without incident. I will mention, it does take a minute to get the stand put together. But at least Samsung eliminated most of the screws, and this stand is mostly put together with sliding supports and clips. It is very well-built.
Alternatively, you can VESA mount the Samsung S95F on a wall, and I think it looks its best on a wall. With that beautiful floating look with nearly zero bezels. Two people will be needed to set this TV up, at least two, maybe three for extra safety.

The “frame” around the Samsung S95F is metal and is basically there to cover the sides, top, and bottom. It’s razor-thin, thinner than a smartphone. The display basically runs edge to edge with very little frame or bezel showing. The back of the S95F houses two ports, the One Connect port and a USB-C port.
The back also houses a massive array of speakers, which is another similarity between this TV and the QN990F. The sound experience on the Samsung S95F will blow your current TV out of the water, more on that later. The back is covered in a textured black plastic, again, mostly there to cover up the insides.
Unlike the QN990F, the Samsung S95F One Connect Box is in all-in-one design and not separated into two different boxes. I preferred this. Connecting the One Connect Box via the One Connect cable allows for one connection. You then connect your I/O box, and you can place these anywhere the cable reaches. It’s nice because it keeps your setup clean.
On the subject of I/O, the Samsung S95F comes with an array of ports, most of which are located on the One Connect box. Here are the ports you can expect to find on the box.
- HDMI: 4
- HDMI Maximum Input Rate: 4K 165Hz (For HDMI 1/2/3/4)
- HDMI Audio Return Channel: eARC
- HDMI-CEC: Yes
- USB: 3 x USB-A and 1 USB-C
- Ethernet (LAN): 1
- Digital Audio Out (Optical): 1
- RF In (Terrestrial / Cable input / Satellite input): 1
- RS-232C Input: 1
The One Connect system is easily the best I/O solution on the TV market. I loved it way back in 2018 when I first saw it, and Samsung has continually improved it. Overall, the design of the Samsung S95F is precisely what you would expect from a premium and luxury TV.
Display

The Samsung S95F OLED display is, in one word, spectacular! I am around TVs now a lot and I have come to appreciate the different display technologies. There is a big swath of users who swear by OLED technology, and they’re absolutely justified in taking this stance. While I love Samsung’s QLED products, a lot. There is something special about OLED that draws a certain demographic in.
Of course, the main draw of OLED technology is deep and true blacks. Because this technology can only light up the pixels that need light, that makes the blacks on these panels spectacular. The Samsung S95F is a champ when it comes to black levels, and this really shows through in movie and film content. This is the true test of an OLED and why many users flock to OLED.
On top of the black levels, you get some brilliant color reproduction in HDR and that vibrancy makes the action on screen just pop. You can adjust all of this in settings and use the different presets like Eco-Mode, Vibrant, Movie Mode, and Filmmaker mode to get the exact look you want. You can also use Samsung’s AI settings to let the AI choose the best settings for your room and setup.
Included with the Samsung S95F is the company’s OLED Glare-Free anti reflection technology. This has been a source of contention among reviewers, some reviewers do not like it, but I love the OLED Glare Free tech. I do not agree that it affects picture or color quality. The colors and vibrancy on the display are as brilliant as ever. I am on team Glare Free. It’s very helpful when you have a big family and not everyone can sit directly in front of the TV or even slightly to the left or right. Let me tell you more.
Glare Free also gives the Samsung S95F incredible viewing angles, what the company calls Ultra Viewing Angle. This means, if someone is sitting far off axis, they will have a better experience than if the TV had no Glare Free tech. I believe normal everyday users, like you in my audience, will appreciate this feature. The TV snobs and home theater elites might disagree, but they are the minority. The Ultra Viewing Angle technology here is a godsend.
Auto HDR Remastering on the Samsung S95F, brings your SD content into clearer focus, at least it tries. Samsung has been doing AI upscaling for several years and it works. But not with everything, it is still learning, but I can confirm that on some SD content, I can see a more clear and sharp picture with what is now called Auto HDR Remastering. Given the acceleration of AI and its capabilities, I suspect that this batch of TVs will have the best AI functions yet.
Gaming on the Samsung S95F is a treat as well, and games look outstanding on this panel. I will note, because this is an OLED, sometimes really dark scenes can be darker on this panel than a QLED, because of those black levels. But there have been improvements here too. Not too long ago, OLED gaming on TVs was a bit harder because the blacks were so intense, some gameplay was hardly seen.
Overall, the 4K 165Hz refresh rate OLED display on the Samsung S95F is sure to please everyone in your family, from the movie watcher to the sports fanatic and to the gamer. This display is spectacular.
Setup

The Samsung S95F is available in 55-inches, 65-inches, 77-inches sizes, and a larger 83-inches. Our review unit was the 77-inch version, and I highly recommend two people to handle this unit. The S95F panel is lighter than the QN990F, but the stand is heavy. The stand is going to add a significant amount of weight.
Like the QN990F, setting up the stand is a little tricky, it’s like a puzzle, so read the instructions. Once you get the stand put together and placed on the back of the TV, it’s just a matter of lifting it into position. This stand is very heavy, but I prefer pedestal stands for their look and I believe they hold the weight better and make me feel more secure.
Software setup of the Samsung S95F is a breeze and can be done via the SolarCell remote or smartphone with the Samsung SmartThings app. SmartThings works on iOS and Android but seems more seamless on a Samsung mobile phone. When you push the power button on the remote, the remote will pair with the TV, and you’re ready to follow the on-screen instructions.
The Samsung S95F setup is pretty basic and standard. One thing I noticed that was different from last year, is that it seems a requirement to login into a Samsung account to use the TV. I recommend signing up for a Samsung account anyway and linking your TV to your account. It makes some things more accessible. Once you complete the setup, downloading your favorite streaming apps and logging into them is just a matter of downloading them from Samsung’s app store. If you have a Samsung account and are replacing a Samsung TV, you could restore the new TV from a backup of your previous TV.
Overall, the setup is straightforward, and Samsung even walks you through it step by step. The company has been doing an impressive job at making setup easy and getting you to watch as quickly as possible, and the new user interface is fantastic, more on that next. The ease of setup is even better if you’re using a Samsung Galaxy phone, or even any smartphone with the Smart Things app.
Software/User Experience

The last few years of Samsung TVs have seen the user experience and user interface change, but not always for the better. Last year was particularly rough, I felt like the UI/UX had stalled and maybe even taken a step back.
So when I first set up the Samsung S95F, QN990F and the QN900F, I was very pleased by the user interface and experience I was treated to. The idea seems to be to mimic and emulate Samsung’s One UI 7 from its Galaxy mobile devices. And that, to me, was an excellent idea. The company calls it One UI Tizen.
This new user interface is far better than anything Samsung has ever done on its TVs. I feel like the menus and settings and everything you need to get to, is in a more logical place, not in the way and simpler to navigate. Of course, this is a Samsung TV, so there are a ton of features, including the new Samsung Video AI. Here’s a short list of what to expect, and then we’ll talk a bit about Samsung Video AI.
- Operating System: Tizen™ Smart TV
- Art Store: Yes
- Smart Service:
- SmartThings
- Matter
- IoT-Sensor Functionality
- Smart Assistants (Built-In): Bixby, Alexa
- Works with AI Speaker: Alexa, Google Assistant
- Far-Field Voice Interactions: Yes
- Web Browser: Yes
- Samsung Health: Yes
- Multi Device Experience:
- TV to Mobile
- Mobile to TV
- TV initiate mirroring
- Sound Mirroring
- Wireless TV On
- Tap View
- Multi-View: Up to 4 Videos
Many of these things have been on Samsung TVs for a long while, but Samsung Vision AI is new to the Samsung S95F and the rest of the 2025 lineup. So let’s briefly cover some of what this is all about.
Samsung Vision AI learns from what you choose to watch and what you choose to like, this helps the software to offer up content that you may have never known existed. You can use Vision AI to translate foreign languages from the TV, and you can use its Generative AI to create wallpapers for your TV. It’s an interesting set of AI features and with AI continuing to grow, these aren’t going anywhere.
Overall, the software experience and Samsung’s new AI features, along with the remarkable new One UI Tizen interface, makes this the most significant user experience in the entire time I’ve been reviewing Samsung TVs.
Sound Quality

The Samsung S95F is the big tuna in Samsung’s OLED stable and for that reason, it gets the kingly treatment when it comes to sound (and just about everything else). Here are the specs on the audio side of this TV.
- Dolby Atmos: Yes
- Object Tracking Sound (OTS): OTS+
- Q-Symphony: Yes
- Sound Output Power: 70W
- Speaker Type: 4.2.2CH
- Bluetooth Audio: Yes
- Adaptive Sound: Adaptive Sound Pro
- Buds Auto Switch: Yes
Ever since Samsung introduced OTS and Q-Symphony, I have loved the sound on Samsung TVs. And when paired with a compatible Samsung soundbar, holy moley, absolute fire! But even if you can’t add a Samsung soundbar right now, these speakers are spectacular without one.
Object Tracing Sound is back, which makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the action with a directional, realistic sound that projects from the TV speakers. Once again, the soundstage has improved overall, pushing vocals to the front and creating spatial depth between sound effects, objects in a scene, people, and nature; everything is just enhanced and separated.
Samsung is leading the way in proper on device speaker technology. The Samsung S95F isn’t the only Samsung TV with great sound; even some of its mid-tier and affordable TVs have significant sound improvements. Samsung TVs are certainly an industry leader in the audio department, and the Samsung S95F showcases that.
Overall, I think many users will be floored with the speakers and sound of the S95F and may find no need to add a soundbar. That is a significant saving for users, and I think most people will be happy enough with the onboard sound. But…..get a compatible Samsung soundbar and experience Q-Symphony. At least buy one and test it, if you don’t like it, take it back. However, you won’t, I guarantee it.
Performance

On the performance front, the Samsung S95F, as expected, performs like a champ. Here’s a quick spec view of some of the picture processing technologies.
- Processor: NQ4 AI Gen3 Processor
- HDR: OLED HDR Pro
- HDR 10+: Yes (Adaptive/Gaming)
- Lighting Technology: Self-illuminating pixels
- Color: Color Booster Pro
- Viewing Angle: Ultra Viewing Angle
- Contrast Enhancer: Real Depth Enhancer
- Upscaling: 4K AI Upscaling Pro
- Filmmaker Mode: Yes
The Samsung S95F is powered by Samsung’s latest AI processors for its TVs. The company has been refining these processors every year and they’ve been improving. In my testing of 4K video streaming, 4K gaming, and basic video streaming and TV watching. I found that the performance on this TV was fantastic.
The high refresh rate keeps things looking smooth and the AI upscaling does an outstanding job of upscaling lower resolution content, where it can. What I found the most pleasing is that the interface is much more responsive than last year. Not that it was horrible last year, but improvements have been made and navigation through the interface is lightning fast.
Gaming on the Samsung S95Fis great, and if you get the 77″, you will never want to go back to anything smaller. I will admit, though, I did prefer gaming on the QN990F with its QLED panel over the OLED panel. The HDMI ports are all excellent, and having an eARC port is important for that Samsung soundbar you’ll be getting. I am not a heavy gamer, but if you have games that will take advantage of that 165Hz refresh rate, well, here you go!
Overall, this level of Samsung TV has always performed well, ever since I started reviewing Samsung in 2018. It is no surprise just how amazing the Samsung S95F performs, it does everything anyone needs to be done extremely well and more. Even gamers who need high refresh rates and fast processing will be elated by the performance here. Though, the QN990F does have a higher 240Hz refresh rate, so you might consider that as well.
Price/Value
The 77″ Samsung S95F I have here for review is actually not as expensive as I thought it would be. This is a sub-five thousand dollar TV. You can get the smaller versions for a lot less, and honestly, you are getting some remarkable home theater tech in this TV. I think the price is spot on and the value you get out of it is totally on point.
Wrap Up
The entire 2025 Samsung TV lineup has been nothing short of spectacular. The last few years were great as well, but in 2025 Samsung has brought some remarkable improvements and designs. The Samsung S95F OLED is razor-thin, comes with the One Connect Box, Anti-Glare OLED technology, the benefits of OLED technology, a new and improved user interface and user experience, and is packed full of goodies that will elevate your home theater experience to the moon.
Overall, if you’re looking for an outstanding OLED TV with fantastic software, a smooth and responsive user experience, brilliant colors, fantastic black levels, and home theater sound. Well, then the Samsung S95F needs to be on your short list of TVs to consider. As much as I love their QLED TVs, this OLED is an outstanding piece of home theater tech.
