Lawyer With Strong New Jersey Ties Rises to SEC’s Chief Litigation Counsel

Nicholas Grippo announced Thursday evening on social media that he had risen to the position of chief litigation counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Stephen E. Frank, a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in the Am Law 100 firm’s New York and Boston offices, served for nearly 17 years as a federal prosecutor, including as chief of the Securities, Financial & Cyber Fraud unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. He recalled Grippo as a “smart colleague with a lot of common sense.”
