KeyBank is celebrating its 200th anniversary with grants to Community Development Financial Institutions to improve affordable housing and small businesses. In particular, the KeyBank Foundation will give one $200,000 grant to a CDFI in each of its 27 markets, according to a press release.
To be eligible, the CDFI must be certified, operate in a KeyBank market, have a good track record of improving housing and small businesses and be able to manage the funds.
“CDFIs are at the heart of economic empowerment, creating pathways to homeownership, business growth, and financial stability in the communities that need it most,” Eric Fiala, chief corporate responsibility officer at KeyBank and CEO of KeyBank Foundation, said in the release. “As we celebrate two centuries of service, we are proud to support investing in organizations that share our mission of creating lasting, positive change in the communities we serve.”
