JPMorgan Chase filed additional lawsuits against several individuals who allegedly took advantage of the “infinite money glitch” at ATMs last year. This glitch circulated on social media, which encouraged users to write a fake check, deposit it into an ATM, then withdraw some of the funds that were immediately available prior to the check bouncing, according to a report by Yahoo! Finance.
The bank has already recouped around $580,000 in a series of four federal lawsuits. It is now pursuing lawsuits on the state level against customers who allegedly stole $75,000 or less through the glitch.
The lawsuits were filed in New York, Florida, Georgia and Texas. The bank first sent out more than 1,000 letters to customers asking them to return the cash.
