Hiscox ILS, the dedicated ILS investment management arm of the global insurance and reinsurance group, has hired Jack Ellison, formerly of Walkers, as its new Head of Legal.
The insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund manager arm of Hiscox Group has strengthened its team with a Bermuda-based transactional and regulatory legal expert that has experience across the insurance and reinsurance value-chain, including catastrophe bonds and ILS arrangements.Most recently, Ellison was a Senior Associate in the insurance team at Walkers in Bermuda.
Ellison joined Walkers in 2024, prior to which he worked at Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP in London in its corporate insurance and financial services team.
He has experience advising large multinational insurance and reinsurance groups, and has advised carriers, intermediaries, investors and other key stakeholders on re/insurance related matters.
Ellison has also acted on a range of ILS transactions, including collateralized reinsurance, sidecars and catastrophe bonds.
Ellison announced his latest career move on LinkedIn and joined the Hiscox ILS team as Head of Legal this month.
Prior to moving into the legal profession, Ellison worked as an underwriter for re/insurance carriers in both the London and Bermuda markets, including time spent at Brit Insurance and Amlin.
