Citizens delivers $2.6M in grants

Citizens Financial Group Inc. announced $2.6 million in grants for financial education to support students, small business owners and others. In particular, the bank will fund its partners like Junior Achievement, Council for Economic Education and 132 nonprofits, according to a press release.

The funding will also support Volunteer Income Tax Assistance for to organizations that earn $67,000 or less. Volunteers from the bank will provide Citizens Money Essentials education to help people budget, save and handle finances.

“At Citizens, we believe that financial knowledge is a foundation block for long-term success,” Bruce Van Saun, chairman and CEO at Citizens, said in the release. “By investing in financial empowerment programs and sharing our insights to deliver financial education, we are helping students, families and entrepreneurs gain the confidence and skills they need to make informed financial decisions.”
