The U.S. Department of Justice issued a clear message to foreign countries during a U.S. Supreme Court hearing Monday: The U.S. Constitution won’t protect you.
“The United States’ position is that foreign states are not persons for constitutional purposes,” acting U.S. Solicitor General Sarah Harris told the court during arguments in CC/Devas v. Antrix, her first Supreme Court argument as the Trump administration’s top appellate lawyer.
