President Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. solicitor general, D. John Sauer, made just over $1.5 million in income last year during the time he represented Trump in his successful high-stakes presidential immunity case at the U.S. Supreme Court, among other matters.

In new ethics filings, Sauer, 50, said he will sell his interest in his Missouri-based law practice to the firm’s current lawyers, estimating his payout to be between $100,000 and $250,000, an amount that includes outstanding client fees. He also stated in an ethics agreement that he will soon divest ownership of holdings in nearly 30 leading companies that he valued between $2.5 million and $6 million.
