No news for two years, this must be a go’er!

Mayur Resources has recently secured a debt package to progress its Central Lime Project (CLP) near Port Moresby (PNG). Initial work has started with first production in about 18 months. CLP will initially produce low-emissions quick and hydrated lime and well as raw limestone.

There’s expected to be a shortfall of lime in about 5 years. The price of quicklime has already started to rise.

Currently most of Australia’s lime needs are obtained from Malaysia. PNG is much closer hence cheaper freight costs.
