Jenner & Block and Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr won temporary restraining orders late Friday, barring parts of executive orders issued against the law firms this week.
U.S. District Judge John D. Bates of the District of Columbia enjoined the government from implementing sections three and five of the order after stating that the Trump administration had violated the firm’s First, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights. He also enjoined the firm from using section one of the order, which laid out the president’s rationale for targeting Jenner, to inform any interactions between the government and Jenner (as well as firm clients).
