Here are 10 things I want for the Google Pixel 10

Companies like Google release new flagship smartphones each year, and in 2025, we expect the Mountain View tech giant to release the Pixel 10 series, the successors of the Pixel 9 series.

We don’t know much about the Pixel 10 series and haven’t seen any leaks yet. Typically, we’ll start to see leaks about these devices around now, so I want to outline what I want for the Pixel 10 series ahead of rendered images and spec rumours.

Here are ten things I want to see for the Pixel 10

  • The Pixel 10 series should include Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Fold. I want a similar experience to last year when Google launched four Pixel 9 series devices. I also wouldn’t be mad if Google launched a Pixel 10 Slim. It could replace one of the four devices or could be another addition. This would allow Google to compete with the rumoured iPhone 17 Air or the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
  • The Pixel 10 series, as a whole, should be slimmer and lighter. The Pixel 9 weighed 198g and was 8.5mm thick. Compared to the S25, which is 7.2mm thick and weighs 162g. Lighter and slimmer devices are nice; they fit better in your pocket and don’t weigh you down.

  • I want the Pixel 10 to have flush (or nearly flush) cameras instead of a camera bar.  From my understanding, implementing cameras that are flush with the rest of the phone is difficult if the handset has a periscope camera. However, for the Pixel 10 and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which will likely lack a periscope cameras, hopefully these handsets can have flush cameras. The Pixel 9a is rumoured to feature nearly flush cameras, so I would like something similar for the Pixel 10 series.
  • Bigger batteries all around. I’m aware a lighter device with bigger batteries is unlikely and difficult, but one can dream, right? Hoping for devices with at least 500-1,000mAh more battery. A Pixel 10 Pro XL with a 6,100mAh battery would be amazing. Or a Pixel 10 Pro Fold with a battery that’s more than 5,000mAh would be great as well. I’ve been using the Pixel 9 Pro Fold a lot lately, and that battery could definitely use some work, as the device barely makes a day of usage.
  • Pixel Sense being actually good: The Pixel 10 series is rumoured to get an upgraded digital assistant dubbed Pixel Sense. It will reportedly use information from Google apps and process media files, including text, images, AI-generated content, screenshots and even the metadata from those files. The Pixel Sense app will also be able to organize and search screenshots. Hopefully, this isn’t just another AI gimmick and is actually useful.
  • These Pixel devices need faster charging. The Pixel 9 series only offered 27W wired and 15W wireless charging. These are really low numbers when some phones boast 60W to 100W fast charging. The Pixel 10 series should be more comparable with some of these other Android handsets.
  • Better performance: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and Apple’s A18 Pro Bionic offer great performance, which is needed for some games, content creation and more. The Tensor G5 should offer performance equivalent to these processors. I doubt it will, but I can dream.
  • Throw a telephoto on the Pixel 10. It doesn’t need to be a periscope camera, like what’s available on the Pro series. But give it something similar to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Nothing Phone 3a, a mid-range device, offers a telephoto. Google should bring this to its Pixel 10. It would also help differentiate the Pixel 10 from the Pixel 9a or the upcoming Pixel 10a.

  • Despite what this list may suggest, Google is doing a lot of things right with the Pixel line. 16GB of RAM, the displays on these handsets are great, the storage options are fine and Pixel cameras are solid. If Google brings all of these features from the Pixel 9 series over to the Pixel 10 line, I definitely won’t be upset.

Last year, the Pixel 9 series launched in August. We won’t be surprised if these handsets also make a summer appearance. And this year these handsets are expected to launch with the newest versions of Android, as the stable verion of Android 16 is poised to launch at Google I/O.
