EU Unveils Plans to Ease Corporate Environmental Rules

The European Union’s leadership on Wednesday unveiled plans to overhaul several previously adopted sustainability laws in what it described as a necessary move to boost the 27-member bloc’s competitiveness.

Announcing the highly anticipated changes, European economy chief Valdis Dombrovskis said the proliferation of laws adopted during the previous Commission’s mandate had come at a cost, placing a significant regulatory burden on people and businesses.
