Pointing to increased attorney head count and realization, even as billing rates went up, Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff generated a 30% revenue increase last year, growing to roughly $348 million. Average profits per equity partner increased more than 17%, to $1.4 million, even with the firm increasing its equity ranks by about 7%. Net income was up 25%, and revenue per lawyer grew 8.5% to $906,000.
Firm managing partner Gregg Eisenberg said in an interview that Cleveland-founded Benesch increased its billing rates by about 10% last year. That’s in line with some law firm billing rate increases last year.
