The Moot Court Committee of Amity Law School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus is organizing the XVI Amity Moot Court Competition, 2025. Amity Law School is committed to fostering legal intellect, advocacy skills, and research acumen among law students.

The institution believes in promoting legal education beyond textbooks and actively engages students in practical learning experiences, such as moot court competitions, to prepare them for the legal profession.

Details About the Moot Court Competition

The XVI Amity Moot Court Competition, 2025 is the legacy flagship moot court competition that attracts some of the best legal minds from across India. The competition has gained nationwide recognition and provides law students with a platform to hone their advocacy, research, and legal reasoning skills.

Theme of the Moot Court Competition

This edition of the competition will focus on the dynamic relationship between constitutional principles and contemporary legal issues. Participants will explore constitutional interpretation in light of evolving societal challenges, judicial precedents, and legal dilemmas.

Rounds and Format

The competition will be conducted in two phases:

  • Preliminary Rounds (Online) – 18th March 2025
  • Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and Final Round (Offline) – 28th & 29th March 2025
  • Each team will argue as both Petitioner and Respondent in the preliminary rounds. The order of argument presentation is:
  • Petitioner Speaker 1
  • Petitioner Speaker 2
  • Respondent Speaker 1
  • Respondent Speaker 2
  • Rebuttal (Petitioner – Any One Speaker)
  • Sur-rebuttal (Respondent – Any One Speaker)

Who is it for? (Eligibility Criteria)

  • The competition is open to undergraduate law students pursuing a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. program from a recognized college/university/institution in India.
  • Each college/university/institution can send a maximum of two teams.

Location

  • Preliminary Rounds: Online (Virtual Mode)
  • Quarter-finals, Semi-finals & Finals: Offline at Amity Law School, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, India.

Registration & Submission Procedure

  • Teams must register online by filling out the registration form mentioned at the end of this post.
  • The last date for provisional registration is 9th March 2025 (23:59:59 IST).
  • Upon registration, teams must pay the registration fee of Rs. 3,900 + GST (Non-refundable).
  • Soft copy of the memorials must be submitted by 15th March 2025 on the email ID: contact.amitynational@gmail.com.
  • Hard copies of the memorials (10 copies, petitioner – 5 copies and respondent – 5 copies) must be submitted in person at the time of on-campus registration on 28th March 2025.

Registration Fee

  • Rs. 3,900 + GST (Non-refundable).
  • Payment is to be made via the official payment portal (link available on the official website).

Prizes & Awards

The competition awards and cash prizes:

  • Winning Team: ₹30,000/-
  • Runners-up Team: ₹17,000/-
  • Best Speaker: ₹3,000/-
  • Best Memorial: ₹3,000/-
  • Best Researcher: ₹3,000/-
  • Medals for winners and runners-up.
  • Certificates of participation for all the participants.

Accommodation, Food & Transportation

  • Accommodation will be provided only for outstation teams that qualify for the quarter-finals round, from 27th March (12:00 PM) to 30th March (10:00 AM).
  • Transportation to and from the venue will be arranged for outstation teams during their stay. However, teams opting for their own commute will not be reimbursed.
  • Food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be provided to all teams on 28th-29th March 2025.
  • Teams availing accommodation must adhere to the campus hostel rules, including:
  • Curfew: No one can leave campus after 8:00 PM.
  • Hostel entry deadline: 10:00 PM.
  • Medical assistance will be available in case of emergencies.
